Flames Form Carb/ Hesitation

I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH HESITATION AND FLAMES SHOOTING OUT OF CARB WHEN I HIT THE PEDAL DOWN. THIS IS WHEN CAR IS IN PARK OR IN DRIVE. WHAT'S THE MAIN CULPRIT OF THIS?

ALSO, I HAVE AN ORANGE BOX THAT LOOKS BEAT. COULD THAT BE IT? IF I REPLACE THIS WITH A CHROME BOX, CAN I JUST REMOVE IT AND HOOK THE CROME ONE IN IT'S PLACE? ALSO, WHAT'S THE ADVANTAGE OF THE CHROME OVER THE ORANGE BOX?

JIM ROGGOW; Scrool down and or look around doing a search. This topic was just covered. It is probly on the lean side on the pump shot when you hit the throttle. Recheck your timing, make sure the distrib is bolted down tight.

I doubt it's the orange box.
You can swap out the chrome for the orange. I believe it needs a different resister. The chrome box is a hot rodded version of the orange box. Its rpm and spark power are raised up a bit. Use with a high performance coil.

See if that works, if not scrool down to a 750 holley carb problem.
