We used one. Close to 20 years ago though!!

It seemed the car ran really good, but lacked all out top end power. It was responsive and smooth, we figured they would be best suited for 2X4bbl set ups?

How cheap? Make sure it comes with the "idle circuit" upgrade. I've heard mixed reviews and haven't met anyone who KNOWS these carbs. I hear they're crisp, easy to tune, and reliable (read simple). I've also heard horror stories about to rich, bad economy etc. I knew a guy that ran one on a mud racer and loved it, but he took it of for regular driving cuz it was "like a toilet, just dumped fuel". So I don't know, hope someone does because I am curious too. Moster truck and some circle trackers love them.

Thumbs up Ohh yeah!!!

I loved the one I had on my bracket motor!! It was a 340,ported 2.02 X heads,.509 lift DC cam,4.89 gears,12.20's@110 mph. I drove this car everywhere. Pittsburgh-Norwalk w/4.89 gears was quite the experience!(I was young and indestructible then) It tended to load up a little at idle. The carb ran good though, and this was before they came out with the ones that had an idle circuit. Some else must of have liked it to,they stole it off of my freind when I lent it to him.Try it,if you don't like it I'll sell a 750 dp I have.(shameless selling strategy)
Good Luck!!

A local guy named Dave Leong has a tubbed Little Red Express truck. He has had two Predators on a tunnel rammed small block for 15+ years. If anybody in BC knows him??? He would certainly "know" the carbs.
We only used ours for a couple months, and it DID have an idle circuit.

I forgot Oly had a predator! Has he driven it much, do you know?

I guess you wouldn't have Dave Leong's email address?

I ran one on a mild 440 and didnt like it,it acted just like a carter 625.The fule curve is adjustable and takes a replacable cam,I couldnt get it lean enough and had to grind the cam down by hand.I know of several people who run them on drag only cars and like them,I imagine it likes a fairly high compression/cammed motor......PRO......

I ran one on a mild Cleveland in my '57 Ford and it was OK. It was the early one with no idle jet. I had to idle it at about 1000 and it would really jump into gear, kinda scary on drum brakes. It has about 10 pieces in it and it is really hard to imagine it works, but it does. I see them for 100 bucks at Pomona with the Idle circuit. Dual 4's like them because they dont overcarb, much like an AVS with its doors. PAW still sells rebuild kits, 2 rubber flaps and a few gaskets! I believe it is kinda tall, they had an add for a wild air cleaner in the box that dropped down around the sides and used foam for elements ALA pro-flow bike seat air cleaners. TRy it, it may work out, if not E-bay it, someone will buy it. Don Joslin, if you are still out there, send mine back, or pay me for it!!! It has been 7 years!! Yeah right.....

Hey Marc,
I don't think he has driven it much.......but he has owned it since new and he loves it. I sometimes wonder if he has it set up perfectly.....but it seems to run pretty strong when I do see him out in it.
As for Dave......I have not seen or spoke to him in many years. I don't think he would even remember me now.

Default junk

I used one cost me a motor one night I put it on to try it it had the idle cams + all + it filled my motor with fuel + cooked it in about two hours. They are good for drag racing + tractor pulls if you take a couple changes of oil they literally dump fuel + they have no bog.

That's not throttle linkage on the side, it's a flush handle.....be sure to put the seat down.

They also look good with a fuzzy pink cover over the air cleaner.

Don't forget the Tidy Bowl Blue Sunoco 117 octane.

Just wouldn't look right without it...LOL
