Question

I own a '89 Jeep Wrangler that has the 4.2 Straight 6 in it.. it was wore out when I got it, got flow by, etc. I was wondering if it would be cheaper to replace with a 4.0 or a rebuilt 4.2, and which would be better? I have checked on the prices at autozone on the 4.2, which is around 1400.00. Thanks for any help.
