Question hooker supercomps or tti's for my 73 cuda 340 4spd

i can't decide which headers to put on my cuda. i'm sure they're both good and cost about the same once you get the hookers ceramic coated. but if you guys know any advantages to either design in terms of ground clearance , quality , ease of installation. i'ld appreciate any feedback. thank you

Default get a HOOKER

i put hooker cc headers on my 71 cuda and they fit just fine. perfect. they are a whole lot cheaper than the tti cc headers by a long shot. it's hard to beat the hookers for price vs performance. my 3 cents

Mr B. you have a big block, and the hookers fit big blocks in the E and B bodies pretty well, but for the small block, the TTI is about the only full length header (not shorty header) that does not wrap down below the suspension link bar. So for a Small block I would use the TTI step tube headers.

As far as a big block goes I know the TTI headers do not have equal tube lengths for equal cylinder pressure. They cost more than Hookers Super comps.

Hookers have the equal tube lengths in the Super competition series header.

Default dear confused

SAY JIM, WHAT'S UP. The last time i looked at my 71 shaker hood cuda it had a 340 in it and the hookers still fit perfectly. A real mopar enthusiast would never mistake a Cuda for a 70 GTX. I just love these chat rooms.

Do the Hookers wrap around and under the center link?

Default headers under the centerlink

the regular hooker comp series goes under the centerlink[really the drivers side inner and outer tie rods, as you have to disconnect them to install].this is on small block applications. the hooker SUPER COMPS fit better and go over the steering linkage, as do the TTI's. i just wanted to know peoples opinions as to which is better, IN A SMALL BLOCK APPLICATION.

Ralph

I recently replaced my 1-3/4 Hooker Super Comps on a 71 cuda SB with the TTI step headers. I was hoping to pick up some major ground clearance but probably only gained 1/2- 3/4".

I run the Super Comp Hooker headers. Not the lower 1 5/8 performance units. The scatter sheild causes interfearance. I had to dent the header to get around the scattersheild. Otherwise, they would have fitted great.
I used a spray gun and por-15 to coat. Worked great.

Sorry about that Mr B.
I read your signature as 1970 GTX 440-6pack

I did not know the Hooker super comp headers ran above the centerlink?
All the cheap small block headers I have used (hedman, cyclone, blackjack, etc) hung down below the centerlink and I have flattened several of those low habging tubes on speed bumps and dips in the road.
