Torsion bar info needed!!!
Does anybody have an A body at hand that they could measure distance between the driver's side torsion bar and the passenger side?
I really need the distance, but don't have an A body anymore! |

If I remember correctly the torsion distance on the A-body is different depending on the year. '62-66, '67-'69, '70-'72, '73-'76 are all different. Which measurement are you after? I have a '70 Dart.
I am assuming you are going to put a A-body torsion suspension under your truck. Am I correct? |

1970 numbers should be good?
I am looking to put Hemi headers in my Coupe. I have a C body front suspension set-up. I think the torsion bars are about 1" closer together than a B body, from what has been posted. Strange, as there are no headers to fit a C body 440 listed by Hedman, yet there B body headers have been running in my Coupe since 1986. If I HAVE to build headers I will, but it would be nice to just buy a set. I have to build almost everything for the car, it would be nice to get a break? |

I believe all of the 70-76 "A" bodies are the same as I've never had a problem with interchanging "K" members or bars. The '72 Duster in the garage measures 25" center to center for torsion bar separation at the crossmember. This may be slightly off because of it's rust, but I believe it's close within 1/4". Hope it helps.
