I have a 1975 D200 Pick up with a very tired 360 engine. I could rebuild it but, I do not need all that power, and would like to update the power plant to a smaller fuel injected engine. Can this be done? Will the engine mounts fit? Should I find something at a junk yard, or is some kind of kit available?

You know you could find a throttle body injected 318 from 91 or so, it would be a drop in. Of course you would need to get all the computer pieces and wiring from under the dash and hood, also the fuel tank would have to come with it, and the electric fuel pump. Also the gas gauge would now want to run on 12 volts instead of the 5 that your current gauge runs on. The Magnums are supposed to be harder yet, although I've never done one.
I would look at rebuilding the 360, and buying a brand new A-518 4 speed overdrive trans from the dodge dealer. You would have to manually turn OD on and off with a switch, as needed, but with a 3.5 gear or 3.2 and 9-1 comp and an RV cam, it might be just what your after. ------------------ If it ain't a Dodge, it's a dog!
