I have never installed one, but it is based on the old Doug Nash 5 speed which was based on the T-10. Years ago the SB Lakewood Scatter shield came drilled with the A-833 pattern and the T-10 pattern along with an adapter ring for the bearing retainer. I hope this helps.

Why Richmond?
You just happen to have one? Keisler 5spd might be the one to think of also. But if you are determined to use the R then Keisler is makin' bellhousings separately...or was it just for BB My memory is like water in the river...it once was there...somewhere |

Why not buy a separate bellhousing then?
It should be identical to 833. Can you lend or buy an old 833 from a wreckyard? there are alu housings and cast iron housings as OEM out there, for instance in Volares and Aspens. Not easy to find though. But if you can get one then it is easy to make comparisons with dimensions. Just proceed logically, you can do it. I'm sure you can fit OEM bellhousing to Richmond. The main idea is to compare the main shaft dimensions. 1. needle bearing dia. 2. main shaft protrusion over "waistline" 3. splines, offset from waistline and dia. 4. centering the box (axle parallel with crank) + all the usual fittings with clutch and flywheel I would advise you to use European split-type press bearing bracket, OEM is not that good. Just my opinion though. PS. Need not to be sorry about your Richmond, it's a good piece. Hopefully you got a good deal out of it. |

I put one in my Challenger over 10 years ago. If you use a Lakewood bellhousing, it makes it much easier. Here is quick list of what was needed. It took about 2 weekends to do.
I added extras holes to the Lakewood so I could use more accessible holes is the mounting flange of the transmission. Drill tap and also welded nuts on the inside. Minor tunnel bump out on the passenger side. New transimission mount bracket (angle iron) onto stock crossmember. Stock mount. Turbo 400 transmission output yoke. New driveshaft. Long shifter for a Z28 modified to come up through original boot. Speedometer adapter. Large throw out bearing needed. |
