Engine Swap

I have a 72 Swinger and I was wondering if anyone knew what engines would fit that transmission because I would like to go larger then the 225 slant 6 it currently has(blew 2 piston rods). Otherwise, would it be hard to put a different transmission in with a bigger sized engine? Sorry for the dumb questions. I dont have alot of knowledge on cars etc. but I do know I want to fix up my Swinger so bad. It's just sitting there on the side of my house. Anyway, I hope to here from some of you. Thanks!

youll need a differant tranny if your going to switch to a v8. both big and small blocks use differant trannies.

You'll be looking at the standard. Motor mounts from Schumaker (unless you're changing your "K" member), radiator, trans (904 will bolt to the same mount and linkage, just not bellhousing), brakes maybe (BB definitely!), and changing a little bit of wiring to extend to new locations. It's really not hard. With all the parts handy, you could be done in a weekend.
