451 '75 Rr
Hey again!
I'm a SB guy, but my buddy/coworker has a '75 Road Runner with a 400 and a '71 Imperial with a 440 (he says Commando). He's looking for a 451 build between them and I'm the only Mopar guy he knows, so.... I'm here looking for specifics on the build between them. 440 crank, 400 block and pistons, which rods? clearancing issues? Best heads? Probably looking at single plane, 750, and MP 509 cam, Hooker, etc. Looking for short block specs or at least a good online place to look. Thanks as always for the help and support. Time to go teach a Chibby guy a new trick. |

The crank must be lathed down to 7.25 OD and the mains ground down for the 400 block. Use the 440 rods, pistons from Ross, JE, UEM, etc, heads and valve gear from the 400. The heads have the hardened seats. Use the damper from the 440. Torker intake, windage tray, and a balance job.
