i have the mp shift kit in my a-518. under light or heavy acceleration it shifts out of first around 8 to 10 mph. is this normal or can it be adjusted?

Sounds like a mis adjusted throttle pressure cable. You didn't mention the year of your truck but most are adjusted at the throttle body linkage. When does it shift from 2 to 3? Does kickdown work at highway speeds?

j-body, my truck is a 93, it shifts from 2 to 3 around 45 mph, the kickdown does work .
