fuel pump mounting
hey there,
i have seen peole mount there electric fuel pumps in the trunk next to the fuel cell. the direction for my pump say it should be mounted lower than my cell. how do i do this? does it have to be mounted lower than the fuel cell. it is a bg280 pump. thanks bill |

Ya, you'll need to mount it under the back of the car off the rear frame rail....they look kinda cool hanging down there and it scares the hell outta the ricers...LOL

Never could understand the reasoning behind that. I realize that electrics are "pushers" and do not lift well, but most fuel cells have the connections at the top. This tells me the pump will have to lift the fuel the length of the suction tube even if located under the cell. I would think low in the trunk would be fine for a streeter.

My pump is actually on the side of the fuel cell, and I have had no problems. I think the Geo-rotor fuel pumps pull better than the spur-gear pumps.
