Hooker Headers
I am considering a set of hooker headers for my '68 Road Runner. My question concerns the difference between the Comp and the Super Comp style headers. Is there really any difference? Which is better for street use? Thanks!

The Comp headers are small tube, street style. The Super Comp are bigger in tube size. This will move the RPM band up and your lower end torque will take a light hit. Depending on what your engines HP level is, is how much of a hit it takes. Modifided engines producing 1 hp per cid or better can use the bigger tube header without a problem. (where the exact division for use is an unknown to me. I have seen alot of weird things and combos.)
Bigger tube headers will allow more HP up top in the RPM range. I have also noticed that the bigger tube headers (small block anyway) fit better than the street small tube units. |
