AFTERMARKET GAUGE ???s
HELLO ALL,
I WAS WONDERING IF ANY OF YOU HAVE CHANGED OUT FACTORY DUSTER GAUGE CLUSTERS (SPECIFICALLY '73) FOR AFTERMARKET AUTOMETERS ETC.? ALSO, IS THERE A COMPANY THAT MAKES ALUMINUM GAUGE PANELS THAT FIT A '73 DASH, WHICH HOLD AFTERMARKET GAUGES? THANKS FOR YOUR TIME |

There are no companies, that I know of, that offer what you're looking for. Replacing the center section with a trimmed aluminum piece is a trick that many prefer to do. Don't understand why they don't make one. Any way, you can cut and trim your piece to match the factory bezel and use a Dremel tool to trim the bezel where you want it. On the back of the aluminum face, braze in small hexnuts or prefferably, studs. Small pieces of metal on the back can be fashoined in as retainers. The rest is cutting your holes for whichever gauge you want and mounting. I would recommend fabbing a frame to help support the plastic bezel around the outer rim where it screws to the dash. Wiring is just a matter of taking your time to crimp new connectors and routing them to the proper gauge. Suggest Heat Shrink to help prevent corrosion. Hope it helped.
