Question Help! Just installed Lakewood B-Housing,now Z-Bar won't fit?

From housing to frame it seems to be too long. Am I supposed to cut to fit? Am I doing something wrong? If I cut it ,won't that throw the geometry off on the clutch linkage? Anybody been here done this, hopefully?

I installed 1 one the s/b in the '73 Cuda. It was a little tricky, but it fit without any real problems.
