Default Splitfire Spark Plugs

Haven't had any experience with the Splitfire plugs but I am thinking of installing them in my 2000 Dakota 3.9 V6 and my 72 340. Are they worth the extra cash or should I stick with Champion? I use a 125 shot of nitrous on my 340 with the Champion plugs and no problems yet. Would the Splitfire stand up to any abuse? Just throwin' the question out there and seeing what comes up.

ELECTRICITY IS LIKE WATER, IT WILL ALWAYS FOLLOW THE PATH OF LEAST RESISTANCE! THAT SAID THE SPARK WILL ONLY JUMP ONE GAP AT A TIME(WHICH EVER IS EASIEST TO JUMP).
THE SPLIT FIRE IS AN AUTOLITE PLUG WITH THE DUAL GROUND ADDED( A SALES GIMMICK AS FAR AS IM CONCERNED).

LONG STORY SHORT: STICK WITH CHAMPS AND SAVE SOME $$$$

i put splitfires in my cuda 340, and the ET dropped by 6 tenths. just kidding, they did absolutely nothing as far as i'm concerned. when it's time for new plugs i'll buy champions again.

Definately a gimmick. I agree 100%.

There are two possible paths, but the coil still only fires once.

I think they might be OK on a car you never wanted to change plugs on again, 'cause when one part of the electrode eroded enought, it would start to fire the other part of the split. Same as the Bosch Platinum +4 and +2. I've got the +4s in my 280ZX just for that reason. The damn car is too low and I'm too old!!

Had a set of split fires on my Duster. They did "Split fire" on the outside of the head and inside the cylinder. Take a plug, file a groove, sell it for $6. I don't find their usefullness any more than most plugs on the market today. My Duster enjoys AP66 the most and I won't run anything else. It gets what it likes, and I'm sure yours will be the same. I will say, if you want larger gap, stay with plat plugs for the spread. The regs won't take it. Good Luck!

O.K., I get the picture! It's kinda like those AB Master electrical stimulator deals. They don't work either but people are buying them up like hotcakes! Wonder why we are all driven to these stupid gimmics. Thanks for the feedback.

Yep, I'll bet they're just as effective as the nifty "tornado" thingie that you put in your air cleaner to speed up the air flow and "improve" mileage - yeah, right!!

Hey cuda66273 - stop, you're killing me!! That sounds just like the Ronco pitchman!! Your post says it all. - RR

Fantastic addendums cuda66273, love it. I'll even throw in a key to my ex-wifes chastity belt at no extra charge, $4.95 S&H please.

Doug,
That would be a fair assumption!
