I just purchased a 2000 Dakota SLT reg cab, 4.7 liter w/auto. I was curious on a couple things:

Truck makes great power, but highway mileage is only around 15mpg, my 95 5.2 5 speed would pull 20mpg. Truck just turned 1000 miles, any opinion on the break-in period on the 4.7? Am I going to see a mileage increase at all? Trucks rated at 15 city, 20 highway. What gives? Anything potentially wrong?

Also, anyone offer performance parts for the 4.7 yet? If so, what & who?

Thanks

Wait to you get some miles on it. It will get better. My friend has one that turned 5,000 mi & his mileage went from 15 to 19. I think that Quick D has or is comming out with a throttle body for the 4.7.
