71 cuda power to manual
I am contepmlating on switching from power to manual steering.
I get that I have to get a colum adapter or make one. I want a good box to install, Firm feel & steer & gear have a $100 core charge. I want to go to a salvage yard & maybe get one to defray the cost of buying one outright. What should I expect to pay for a junk yard manual box. & what cars should I look in B & C bodys correct???? Any input on a preference of FIRM FEEL or steer & gear???? For me steer & gear is closer & shipping is probably cheaper but I am looking for input. Thanks for the input in advance Scott |

If this is a drag only car fine go with manual box! few extra horses to be had without the PS unit.
If not I would keep the PS unit Garrentteeeeeed you will miss this when gone!!! The loss of a few horsesyou will not miss when steering this puppy. Which aint to badd when movin but try turning the wheel when stoped and its a work out. These cars are not known for there handling anyway, and with a big block oooohhhhhh! I have a manual steering duster and i am goin all power when i get a chance!! |
