Ok, my dad has a mopar reciver hitch that was mangled pretty bad when he got rear-ended in his Ram. The bolts pulled through the flange,(yes THROUGH, and a thick washer too.) Anyway, I was wondering, since the flange is the only damaged part, if I could cut it off and mount it on the outside of my frame rails of my Dak? 3 half inch bolts on each side? What do you think, will it be stout enough to pull anything my truck can pull? I figure it'll be stronger if it works, because the flange, therefore the bend, the weak point, are eleminated. I'm going for like a hidden hitch job behind the license plate.

Advice appreciated, just trying something new here maybe.

Andy

That seems fine. Daks can't really pull anything super heavy anyway even with a V-8. They're not meant for that really. Just remember to TORQUE THE BOLTS probably between 80-90 ft-lbs. Hitches are nice. I have them on my trucks and they save time. If you have any other questions I'd be glad to answer. Hope this helps.
