I was just playing around on Dodge's website designing myself a new Dakota and it gave me the option of buying a 3.92 axle ratio. What is the ratio without this option? It's not on the site anywhere.

When I ordered my 2000 QuadCab, I went ahead and added the 3.92 gear option. I believe the standard gear was a 3.55 (which is pretty good). I have a 4.7L with a 5-speed and limited-slip rear end. I gets up and moves pretty good! It does rev a little high out on the highway though (around 2,800 at 70-75mph), which probably hurts my mileage a bit. I dn't regret ordering the 3.92's though. Hope this helps you out.

Thanks, I think with the 5.9 liter engine I'll be fine with the 3.55 gear. It's gonna be a 4x4 so I'll need all the help I can get in the mileage department. Besides, if I wanna go fast I still have the GTX.
