Driveline angles
Anybody know , or know where I can find- the driveline angles for a 71 B body? I have the factory manual, but it doesn't give a angle # - just showing marks on a Chrysler driveline level. trans to shaft, and shaft to pinion are the points of interest.
Thanks, rc |

Your right, my '71 FSM shows them using a bubble level?
The Mopar Performance Chassis Manual says the front angle should be 2.5 degrees or less, but not zero for all suspension types. The rear angle should be 4-5 degrees nose down on Leaf spring cars, and 1-2 degrees nose down on link suspension cars. |

But, shouldnt the trans yoke and the pinion yoke be parallel???

Hmmm I wonder if those are in relation to "level" or to each other, or the engine pan rail. I'll have to dig up the MP Perf Manual and see.
Dodge440- My guess is when the car is " driving" you want the pinion in a straight line with the driveshaft. That is the only position it will equally load the u joint. So a static nose down will give you that alignment under acceleration. |

I believe it is the angle between the yoke and driveshaft.
