Yeah I am having a hell of a time tracking a ball hone down...
I can't figure out why all the auto shop only carry the 120 grit flex hone..???????????????

That seem like alot of drag on new piston rings...
I found one for $111.00 320 grit

It turned out ok, actually.

The trick is getting the right relation between the speed you move the hone in and out , vs the drill speed.

This time, it turned out not bad, the last engine I did turned out quite good.

I should have gone looking for some reference material re drill speed, but was too lazy to do so. I must have some notes on that left over from school, but that was a while ago.

I think I had the drill going a bit too fast, as the cross hatch angles are a little too close.

Hope this helps

If you use an air drill like I do, you really have to hustle on the in and out stroke to get a good pattern with either the ball style or stones. 600 is not too fine for the moly filled rings, looks like it's polished.
