Brake pad material
Is metalic still the best performance brake material?

depends upon your needs...mettalic pads chew up rotors, semis are ok, ive used nothing but organic pads for years, but use the enginess bhp to help slow me down(like youre supposed to) and have had no trouble. if you dont mind beating races and changing bearings frequently or dont have access to a brake lathe, go with the cheap ones.

The "premo" brake linings are ceramic. They are all the rage with the import guys, or anyone with alloy wheels.
They last longer, are quieter, and leave no dust on the wheels. Only problem is, they are expensive, and are only available on limited applications. Most likely, they are available for mopars, since there are only a couple of pad options for most of the old cars. On the newer stuff they are available too, but you will have to double check availability. |

Thanks to both of you, I never heard of ceramic brake pads. I'll check them out.
