i think the trans in my ram is slipping dealer said something about 2 second gears is he blowing smoke up my butt or what some body please help by the way its a 2001 ram off road still under warrenty 5.9l 1500 4x4 not even 2000 miles onit please help with this one

maybe your overdrive is cicking in too early? Is there a special tranny in the Offroadster or is it just the traditional 4x4 727?

Two second gears are in the 45rfe trans behind the 4.7L's.
Could you be talking about the lock-up torque converter operation? The converter unlocks and rpm's will climb a few hundred rpm. Controller tries this to maintain speed before downshifting trans to a lower gear. |
