Default 360/380 magnum flex plate question

I have a 380 hp crate motor with a 727 trans. I have the B&M flex plate that is balanced so you can run a torque convertor without welding weights on it. I noticed though that it says this flex plate is for 360's up to '91(pre magnum). It seems to work fine with no vibes but am I missing somethin here? Am I goin' to damage the motor? Is there a different one for Magnums?

there is a difference in the imbalance between the magnum and pre 92 small blocks(4 or 5 ounces ithink), i used the mp weights and welded them on the torque converter. im not sure if this will hurt your motor but it sure cant help.

I know there is a B&M plate for the Magnum motor too. I ran on for a couple of years before going to a stick. The balance difference is actually quite alot. not only is it about 5 ounces differance, but it's also in a different spot.

I have had them both side by side and the Magnum plate is a little smaller overall. The correct one for a Magnum motor is #10242 and the older style motor is a #10236.

Hammer, That # comes up as a '93 to '95 360. Is that considered a magnum and are the 360 magnums built after '95 different or somethin'?

Here is the link to B&M. I think the 10242 is up to current.

Hammer, thats were I looked. I got the flex plate from a friend and installed it without seeing which one it is. I am gonna try to track him down to see if he knows which one it is. I think it would be vibrating pretty bad if it was the commando 360 plate. I'll keep you posted.
