Default line lock questions

alright, im going to put a line lock on the duster, but have a few questions before i do so.
1. are they safe to run on the street an a car that sees a whole lot of street miles?
2. is sam biondo racing products a reputable company to buy one from?
3. is there anything i should watch out for when i do this?
thanks for the help guys. oh yeh, and any advice for drag racing (technique wise) would be greatly appreciated.

I have one on my car and haven't had any problems with street driving.

I don't have any sam biondo racing products, so I can't say. I have the Hurst linelock.

You can install the line lock on either the front or rear brake line.
If you use it on the front (to hold brake pressure), you have to pump up the brakes then activate the line lock and release the brakes to do a burn out.
I have my car setup this way, but I think having the line lock on the rear brakes would actually work better for me and on a street car with an automatic transmission. With a standard trans the front line install provides "roll control" so you have both feet free to work the gas and clutch.

If you install the lock on the rear brakes (for an automatic trans car), you just activate the line lock to prevent brake pressure from going to the rear brakes. Now you can apply any amount of pressure to the front brakes (good for doing really long burnouts.)
Actually, a good part about this is if you forget to dis-engage the line lock, or the line lock fails, you still have the front brakes to stop you, and the front brakes do the majority of the work when stoping the car.

when you plumb the lock to the rear, where do you put it, right after the master, or do you have to go after the metering block?

I would put it after the metering block.

Default Sam Biondo

The Biondos are well known in NHRA stock eliminator classes, I think he currently drives a pontiac so most of you won't know about him. The family makes a line of race parts, delay boxes and such.

Default Line Lock for the street?

Line lock will work on the street just like anything else you use your head with. Keep in mind, a guy I know decided to to a burn-out on the street with a 360/4 speed Duster. Four gears and tons of smoke at a stop sign. Problem was the cop saw it too. Wreckless Driving ticket stuck, even though he never moved.
