Just to keep somepeople updated, the turbo applied to my 1993 Grand Cher0kee 4.0 is working great. My friends 98 5.9 is still quicker from 0-70 km but after that I pull away from him at a quick walking pace. The Skyline intercooler works great and no overheating problems of yet. I'm at 3900 km since the install on the new engine. The next stage is the Propane conversion on it because propane works great with turbocharging. Will update in another month or so. Shane C.

Shane - that sounds pretty impressive. How involved was it to install. I ask becuase I read an article at the Motor Trend site about a '99 Grand that was supper charged. It had the 5.2L in it. I also have the '98 5.9 Limited your friend has. I thought about supper charging it if it's possible. She's brutal 0-80, after that not much left. I've had thoughts of running some times at the track. I would hate to smoke some 5.0's off the line only to loose to them down the stretch.
One more thing - Has your friend done any mods to his 5.9? If so, I'd be interested in knowing how they worked for him. Thanks! [This message has been edited by FastJeep5.9L (edited June 06, 2000).] |

Check out the Speed Freaks column and Jeeps Unlimited.com..There's a guy named Trey there with his 400HP blown JGC 5.9 for sale. I believe he ran 14.0 in the 1/4 mi.

How much boost are you running? How about inlet air temp? I'm always looking for info on how different systems run!

9psi, I don't know the exact air temp but the charge tube gets about 120.
