Question Big block A body trans shield problem

Hello all.... here my problem (One of many I told LOL) I have a 71 Demon with a 451 / 727 combo, I plan on installing my engine next week after waiting over 1 year for the engine shop to finish it. I need to install a trans shield on my 727, but my neighbor (Hemi guy) says an aluminum style shield will hit my stock floor boards. He wants me to buy his old trans blanket, but I think he's just trying to make a dollar on me. Whats the truth? Thanks... A

Sorry, He's right. The aluminum shields wont fit a stock floor pan. Your options are a blanket or a CSI shield. At that, from what I've been able to decipher, they require removal of the kickdown linkage boss, hence rendering them not very street tolorent. I use a blanket. JERICOGTX reccomends a Lofgren blanket (763-753-7573). Many others have used and recommend the CSI shield. Good luck.
