Default SFI Ratings ?

How long are things SFI rated good for? I.E. 3 years, 4 years... five years?

Things like seat belts... Tranny shields, helmets?
And ... why are they good for only a short time... Do I have to replace my helmet every x number of years...???

Forget it.. I found the website and it lists the number of years for each device and when and if it needs to be replaced...

Thanks...

What's the web page?
I know the seat belts need to be replaced pretty often, but things like dampners and flexplates not as often? Some of this is in the NHRA Rule book.

http://www.sfifoundation.com/

Look at the Specification List for the individual components and their life span....

I have to replace my seat belts this year...Darn it...

Racing season is only a few weeks off now and I'm nowhere near ready... Looks like some late nights...

I took the Charger out yesterday!

I plan to race in the street car showdown on May 5th? at Bandimere. This is a good time for me to get the car inspected and registered before the Club Clash races. Forst Club Clash race is MAY 10!

I need to remove the 3.23:1 gears and put the 3.91:1 gears back in and change the engine oil.
I also need to check the brakes while I'm getting ready. Other than that the car is basically ready.

I'm not ready darn it!
I need to put a new gas tank and valve springs in the 70 Challenger... (Gas tank has crud in it, looks original)...
and ... of course the usual maintenance kind of stuff like oil, fix a few things here and there... I would like to get 12.70's out of it at Bandimere for the ET Series.. It was running 12.80's - 12.90's last fall...

The 72 Cuda need's lots of stuff, but most urgently tires...It has a mild 440 in it now and had a best run of 11.99 last year with a street engine... I wonder what it will run with the new motor...

I have a new 505 stroker (618 HP on Dyno).. for it that I still need to get in, it's still on the engine stand... That should wake up the car since it only weighs 2600 LBS... I don't know if I can get it to hook up with the SS Springs and 29.50 X 11.50 X 15 tires on the rear... We'll see... Isn't that half the fun though!!!!

Good Luck... Maybe see ya out there...

Darn it! You just reminded me that my M/T Street ET tires are almost shot? I think they will last untill next year
I would also like to get one of the K&N filtered tops for my air cleaner. I don't have a hood scoop, and my limited hood space only lets me run 3" tall filter (using a droped base), with about 1" clearance above the filter top.
