Rockers
Time to decide on the rockers for the 66. I'm inclined to just put ductile iron adjustables on the hydraulic cam. They are about $200 with shafts. This is a street 340, mild Crane cam, 10.5 1 Edelbrock heads, RPM Air Gap w/ Edelbrock 750 carb. Redline at 6500 or less.
Should I pop for the Comp Cam Magnum steel rockers (these arent the PRO-Magnum full roller - they don't make those for the small block, I'm told)? I'm also thinking about the Crane Gold Race Aluminum rollers, but this car will be driven 20,000 miles per year and I'm worried about their durability. Costs of the Comp and Crane rockers are within a few bucks of each other. Around $325. Advice, please??? |

No real advice for you here Doug, but a couple of observations, I've made with the big block stuff I've looked at.
If any one is looking at ordering the mopar performance ductile iron adjustable rockers, I just got mine from a local dealer. They are made by CRANE, as they have crane stamped all over them. So I guess if your trying to decide between the Crane, and the mp, price is the only issue. Also, Don't forget the additional cost of the pushrods, because the stock ones won't work with these(ball vs cup style end). Comp Cams roller rocker set up, is made to recieve the "ball" end type push rod, but they are $479(If I remember right. |
