If you do that remember that you'll have to change your brakes to B-body set up (a-body 10x1 7/8 B-body 10x2 1/2).

What differential do you have?

If it's the 8 3/4" then these guy are right, although you also have thse option of taking c body axles and turning them down to fit.

If it's the 71/4 then if you look for backing plates and axles, from a 75 or so 7 1/4 A body, then it's a straight bolt in.(I think any way. Never tried it, but it should work) You won't even have to take the diff cover off.

Red face HOLD IT

I just did this on my 66 Dart. IF you use mopar parts for the swap what is said will work, But if you use the moser axles as I have, it is way tougher to do. The moser axle dimensions from the outside face of the axle to baclplate will be different than the stock mopar stuff. We could not find brakes that would bolt up, had to some machining on the drums.
Just my 2 cents.

The best option is to convert to the 8 1\4 rear end it will come with the big bolt pattern aaxles, 10x2 1\2" shoes and drums and at a cost of less than $100. Any 2 door 73-76 A-body can be used as a donor car. Unless you are pullung more than 500 horses the rear is strong enough. If you have the 8 3\4 in the car conversion axles should be considered, but you will need the backing plates, shoes and drums from most any Mopar from 73-89.
