anyone know anything about magnum 360s
i am building a 360 magnum out of a dodge truck and hoping to get about 400-500 HP, first of all i need to know if the block will be able to handle this much power. i would also like to know what your opinions are of how (components, compression ratios, etc.) i should get this kind of horsepower from this block without paying an arm and a leg
i would also like to get decient economy and reliability, so i wouldn't want very high compression thanks for your time bruno |

Gotta fill in some blanks for us man.
what year is the engine? What year of truck is it going in? If it's FI, are you keeping that stuff? Is there emmissions testing in your area, and are you going to drive on the street regularly? Thanks |

more info
year: i havn't bought the engine yet so you tell me which one i should look for.......i'm not putting it in a truck, i'm planning to put it in a 94 dodge intrepid.......(yes it is a pretty funky idea)
FI: yes i would like to keep all that if possible, i am planning on it being my daily driver(depends on the economy probubly) and i live in South Dakota so emissions isn't that big a deal.....but i'd like to stay as close as possible to regulations *****it doesn't have to be a magnum either but i think that it would be cheaper being i can yank one of those out of a wreck for pennies basically i want a reliable small block with 400-500 HP that is economical and i'm asking for your ideas thanks bruno PS. if you think i have my head in the clouds just tell me |

Well, if it's a 400hp engine, your head is high up but not in the clouds.
If it's a 500hp engine, your head is in the clouds! A High comp engine is what your going to have. At least by todays standards of whats high for pump gas. You could go with a 9-1 engine and get 400 hp. Follow the 380hp Magnum engine specs and do a little bowl porting. Since the 380hp create engine makes that power with stock heads! 500hp is alot! The engine blocks and crank etc... are good for about 600hp before they give way. I just went to the above site, and super chargeing didn't even enter my head. Alllways a good idea as far as I'm concerned. |
