Default the stealth...

i haven't owned a stealth, but i have driven a twin turbo nissan of the same era and my girlfriend drive's a 12 second talon.
turbo cars are very very fun to drive, because of the way the powerband kicks in like a dirtbike and they can haul ass on the highway. the stealth is a fairly 'good' car, usual chrysler work, but it is very heavy and takes lot's of power to make it move = harder on gas than you'd think.

I nearly bought a '92 Stealth RT twin turbo - it was one of the best cars I have ever driven. Rev it up to 5000 grand and drop the 'er....you are gone! Handles like nothing else I've driven (I guess I can't compare it to much).

I decided against it because there was no warranty (back in the day) and I just was scared of the bills (both maintenace and tickets)

Today, if I was looking at buying a car like that, I would probably buy a WRX - unless Chrysler comes out with a Turbo / S.C.'ed Neon.

The Stealths had their problems like someone said, but they look SO sharp!

Its a good looking car, that I will give it. Of course I myself would probably avoid buying one, mainly because from what I understand parts can be a little on the expensive side for the Twin Turbo.

Oh Mills by the way, they are making a Turbocharged Neon in 2003 called the SRT-4. It looks pretty inpressive in my opinion. Check out this pagehttp://www.pinnaclecda.com/DaimlerCh...odge/srt-4.htm

mpbiv,

I had seen those pics - it is a sharp car. But as is says, will I be able to buy one in Canada - and at what cost. My last sales trip to the states I "exchanged" some money at the bank. I gave them $1000 CDN, and got back 50 cents American.

sorry for my opinion but i think the stealth is a "bitch" car even with a twin turbo, sure it has some power but it really only looks good wrapped around a fine looking woman(sorry if this sounds sexest) but a man should have a manly car like a viper or an old B-body my wife used to use her stealth to beat up on ricer punks but then again it's my 2 cents

Darn that's sad

I hate it when car companies make certain models exclusive to geographical areas, its just not cool in my book.

I have had a few, including my current 11 second beast. They are awesome cars for the money they are selling for now - you can get a 91-93 in reasonably good shape for around 7-8 grand! AWD rules on the street, and just like any turbo car some easy exhaust, boost control ,and air filter mods puts you in the solid 12s. Bigger turbos, injectors, and electronics and your in the 11s.

The downside is they have trans problems - most of which can be alleviated by getting a good one and running good fluid and staying on top of things. Once modded, the clutch and AWd system has a tough time surviving too. Parts are expensive and the aftermarket is relatively small.
