Default steering column help

installing tri-y headers on my dart,how do you remove lower steering column???i see a roll pin in lower part where it goes
into box.do you just punch out roll pin???

Are you trying to pull the shaft from the joint, or the joint from the steering box?

i'm just looking for the easiest way to get lower column out of the
way so i can get header in...it just barely touches lower column
& i can't slide by

Their is a roll pin holding the joint on to the steering box shaft. Pop the pin out and the joint slides off.

I swapped my Dart over from power to manual steering, so I am pretty familiar with steering now...lol. I installed TTI headers which go in from the bottom, which allowed me to leave my steering shaft connected, but in turn i had to disassemble the steering linkage below.

i'm putting tri-y's on,it sez i just have to disconnect column,remove starter & jack motor up a couple inches
starter is out & motor jacked to the sky & i can almost get it in
i know it will fall in w/column out of the way
