Default Ultra Flo vs. Super Turbo

I've gone through a bunch of the muffler threads but wanted to know if anyone has heard both the Dynomax Ultra Flow and the Super Turbo on similar cars. I'm trying to determine how much louder the Flo is compared to the Turbo. If there isn't much difference, I'd go with the Flo.

This will be on my Challenger 440 with 284/484, headers, 2 1/2 pipe with 2 1/4 aft the mufflers.

I'm thinking the Ultra Flow but with the 20" version to keep things quieter.

Thanks.

BTW, just found this forum and it's great. Lots of great info and tips.

Anyone ever heard of Terminator mufflers? They are really ugly, painted black, slag all over the welds, pretty heavy. They say they are "too loud" on the label (marketing) just wondering...

Pep, with the Ultra Flow (formerly AKA Race Magnums) being a straight thru design, they are going to be louder than the Super Turbo which is a chambered design. Since you are going to be using tail pipes, I would go with the Ultra Flows.
I am using the 3" Welded Oval shaped UltraFlow/RaceMagnum on my 493". W/turn downs or turn outs before the rear wheels, they are loud in the cab of my truck, tailpipes would fix that.
Cruising is not bad, when you gas it, people will know. They have a deep rumble when idleing & cruising, and roar when your on the pedal.

493Ram and ROBGTS,

Thanks for the feedback. I am leaning towards the ultra flos, although to make things easier, I'll stick with the 14" versions.

Do you guys know if they tend to be as load as a 3 chamber Flowmaster? I'm hoping they are not at the same level as a 2 chamber as I don't want anything obnoxious that would disturb the neighbors.

pep,i had 3 inch headpipes,3 chamber flowmasters,2.5 inch tailpipes on my 68 gtx & they were extremely loud...after i put this exhaust on i thanked god i didn't get the 2 chambers....
when i finally do exhaust on my dart,i'm either going with
ultra-flows or race magnums...
