Default new "A"-4 engine streetability

Hey guys I was looking at the new 4cyl aluminum motor in the '02
MP catolog and noticed it has a bellhousing flange on two of the versions. Does anybody know if its designed for older trans missions(727,904, 4-speed) I would like to pick one up in the future when the novelty wares off for a strreet project also curious about the parts that aren't listed in the catolog (cranks and such) Do you have to get a custom crank?
