Default Stainless steel M1 2 barrel install kit

I have 2 only stainless steel install kits. All the components in the factory kit, but bolts, washers, plugs, spacers etc are stainless steel. also contains vacuum caps, wires, connectors and stainless steel bypass nipple. This prevents that ugly corrosion so common when mild steel or brass are used to fasten to aluminum. $45 delivered anywhere in US or Canada. I also have 2 only turtles for the floor of M1 2 barrel manifold plenums, these help smooth and distribute the airflow to the runners $20 or $15 when combined with an install kit. First come first served.

Pardon my ignorance..

What is the "turtle"?

and

Does it REALLY help performance?

Its not like the TB spacer syndrone is it??

I recently installed an M1. How does the turtle mount on an existing m1??

Thanks

Bill

The turtle is a cone shaped divider that replaces the !/2 npt plug thats used in the floor of the M12b plenum. , very simple on non-egr systems, diverts the air charge towards the runners, prevents the air charge from just slamming against the plenum floor(old cheby 302 crossram trick.

Salarguy specifically states it works on the M12b (see his above post).

I have a 2 barrel.

I surely don't want one that doesn't fit my model!!

No typo, I'm aware of the turtle for the M1 4b.This one's designed for the M12b. The concept goes back to the late sixties. Mines in use for three months w/ two profile changes from prototype to finished product.

Dak on 20s
As dakaty said the answers to most of your questions are already in the posts. They "came out" three months ago, when a friend of mine ,who's an air and gas management specialist, designed and built them. There are three in existence, I have been using mine for three months With no torque figures available, as there is no means to test it in Newfoundland. There is however, marked off idle throttle response improvement. This is not new technology, it just provides a happy medium between single plane and dual plane manifolds, although that is an oversimplified description. There is only one left, and thats on hold til noon Atlantic time today."Turtles" of various shapes have been in use since the sixties, wedge, conical etc. These will only work in non-egr applications ie. if theres no plug going to be used in the floor of your M12b it's not for you. There will be more stainless steel install kits in the future and maybe more turtles, if the feedback on these is all positive. Hope this helps.

ok, its not a massed produced part. its just a homemade item. the 4bbl has the turtle as a option.

Yes Kota it's homemade------- In a Labratory There's no assembly line for the M14b turtle either!
And Curious the turtle probably doesn't produce additional power in any application, normally just moves the power band down, for some torque or throttle response on the bottom end. I don't know about you, but that's where I need it!

i dont know much about the turtles, but you are saying each turtle for the 4bbl is hand crafted? i wouldnt want that job!!

i dont know about you, but power comes on at about the 1500-2000 range for me, how much lower do you want it at? what will the turtle pull it down to? if you dont need high rpm power, why did you change the manifold?

Both turtles are sold, however there is one install kit remaining as a member of another site chose to leave the factory kit in place. It might interest one of you people waiting for the the manifold backorder. when I saw the kit the dealer wanted $105 Can. for and it wasn't stainless or even anodized aluminum. I just asked the dealer to send it back. Stockroom guy said he didn't blame me for refusing for that price. If I get enough requests I can have some more kits assembled. More turtles may take a while because of the difficulty in the designer/builder finding the time,as a result they will probably com out in small #s. When a few get out there they will probably be copied anyway, and to be realistic it's not worth the expense of a patent.

First kits are sold, but based on the e-mail response I'll be doing another run. Should be ready in about ten days. There will be six available, first come first served. There is no large profit in these kits, but maybe if they start piling up on dealers shelves Moma Mopar will start providing a quality kit once and for all. Then I'll shut down the Plant, lol.

Based on the response I'm going to do another run of 6.The demand seems to be up on the premium kit, which includes the install kit all inclusive, plus manifold bolts and washers, valve cover bolts and washers, a Voss 3.25"-4.5" stainless clamp for FIPK, Volant, homebrew intake etc.(solves the falling filter syndrome) All bolts in the premium kit are 316 stainless w/ Allen socket heads. This makes for a very Boss professional topside for your Magnum engine. The baby turtle is also standard equipment. The price is $95 shipped ground post or $110 Priority Post 5 business days. The price is reasonable, the other guys want $160 for the turtle and install kit and it's not even stainless. paypal preferred E-mail hardexinc@nf.aibn.com

The last 2 kits remaining are 1 base M1 kit, all stainless hex head $45 ground post add $20 for turtle and $15 Express post.
The other may be of interest to those of you who have asked for a "complete" kit. It contains base M1 stainless kit w/ manifold bolts, valve cover bolts, throttle body bolts, manifold gasket, throttle body gasket, airhat gasket and valve cover studs all in Allen socket head (2) valve cover studs w/wire looms.( please state whether stock or MP covers) The full meal deal $125 US add $20 for turtle. Express post to your door 5 business days. This will be #s 21 and 22 kits distributed with lots of positive feedback. The turtle really adds throttle response to our M1s by moving the torque curve down. After these are sold I will only take orders one at a time(three week delivery). They have become very time consuming, and my co-designer/machinist is on vacation, and has to devote more time to his real job when he returns.

I have one only Stainless M1 install kit remaining. I have added a set of manifold bolts to this kit,all with stainless washers. You will only need gaskets, ultra-copper, and about 3 hrs. of your time for the install.$60 shipped priority 5 business days. If you need a turtle, I can have one ready in three weeks.
Salarguy

Just got an e-mail requesting valve cover bolts with the above kit.
$8 w/washers of course. Mopar wants $32 for regular steel w/o washers!!! $68 shipped, hardexinc@nf.aibn.com
