Speedo problem in a 70 Charger 500

My speedometer bounces all over the place, I'm replacing the cable but if that doesn't work, who rebuilds them???

If it's not the cable or the pinion gear in the tranny, then the problem is an out of round bell, in the speedo. That's what was wrong with the speedo in my '68 Charger. Once I opened the speedo, it took me about 2 minutes to fix it. I found where it was rubbing and then bent it back, by hand. It works great now.

Great suggestion, the Odometer appears to work but the speed tell tail bounces all over the place. I'll open it up tonight!

Finally got to take the dash apart last night. The magnet is sliding around so it intermittently contacts the bell. Just dropped it off at a local Speedometer shop that has been around for ages. Bout a $100 repair.

Now if I could just find a Tic/Toc/Tach I'll be happy!
