It would require some fabbing on the tunnel hump for the shifter, and some time spent on linkage. But, if you think you can do it, email me. I just had to put my A833 setup back on the market.

Thumbs up Its worth a try

I had big plans of doing this with my fifth ave. But finding clutch peadald was the hard part for me. I think a pedal set from a B body is the closest match.
I was going to use an alluminum case 3sp w/ OD, but the 400+hp 360 that i have built would probably shred that in a month.
I too have an 8.25" rear w/ 3.55 gears but opted with a 727 slush-box with a B&M shift kit instead
Here is a link to a really cool site that is strictley M bodies. There is a lot of info on engine/tranny swaps in there.

You can also go to Thunderstruck's Electronic Garage at:

His 360/4-speed Diplomat has the same body as your Fifth. He has lots of pictures of the swap in progress. - RR

Check F bodies (Volares & Aspens) for parts. They're the same general body as Fifth Avenues and Diplomats and are more likely to have the manaul trans. The pedals, linkages and tunnel should fit right in.

Sleeper, thanks for liking my forum You have to send me pictures of your car sometime.
