Dodge Razor production plans

Anybody have any knowledge of whether dodge will go ahead and build the Razor and if so what engine hp itll have and so on ?

I think I heard production for 2005. It will share some of the Crossfire drivetrain, from what I understand. MotorTrend(I think) has it and it's Pontiac look-alike on the cover this month... "Will Detroit make an affordable sports car?"

I'm hoping they'll build either the Razor or the Charger. If I can't have a rwd Musclecar, I wouldn't mind having a DOHC, or even SOHC Mopar 4 banger powered sports car! I've always thought since the introduction of the Neon, that it had the makings of a nice little roadster. I'm kind of surprised they waited this long, and they had better hurry before Tom Gale and Pontiac steals any more ideas.

Well if the specs are correct on the Razor, it could very well be the equivelent to a new age muscle car. I mean yeah its got a 4 banger, but from what they say of the Neon SRT-4 which has the same engine only slightly less boost i think. It makes 220 ft lbs torque from 2000-4800 rpms. That with 250 hp in a 2500 lb RWD car is a muscle car in my book. Id bet it would probably run mid 13s or so.

Well guys, im sorry to say but.......... The Dodge Razor or anything much like it will not be seeing production. Why u ask, because Dieter says Chrysler will not be producing any vehicles with sales capabilities of under 100000 units per year. Read this on www.automotivenews.com . Check it out and you'll see, this also means no Dodge M80.

Ok, but the "key" word in the statement is "mainstream"! Obviously the Viper is not "mainstream".
There seems to be more to it since we don't know their "definition" of "mainstream".

If you read farther in the article it says vehicles from Chryslers new PVO(Performance Vehicles Operation) will not count as high volume cars, since they wont. So that's why the Viper and Ram SRT are still on.

I didn't read the whole thing at first, but figured there had to be an "exception" to the rule.
Now we have to hope that Chrysler's PVO unit will have something to do with a RWD, 2 door hardtop Hemi car!
