Can anyone decode the numbers on my old Thermoquad? I think it is the original carb off my old 72 340 Duster. The #'s 6139 S. The number below it is 354 1. Thanks for the help.

Dual Thermoquads?
Sorry Mister Fiberglass, but can't help you with any carbs. I only have the 72 carb and an 83 carb and they both need work right now. I think I'll put the 72 carb back on my 72 340 when I get it back together. The way some guys talk here, they must have a bunch set back, maybe they can help you with a matched or near matched set. I've never heard of dual Thermoquads but if you have the motor I'm sure they will wake up anyone within a half mile.

T - from what I have seen and heard....ALOT of guyz have those 800 cfm units and want the larger 850's. NOW I can't find them when I need 'em OR they have just thrown 'em out! ...???????
Matched set?.........does not really have to be BUT as close as possible is better. RT - the project is a B engine stroker..........471 probably. I will be REDUCING the primary venturi size DOWN to probably 1" or so. This project is WAY off in the distance BUT I DO have the OFFY intake that was cast up AS a dual TQ intake....this was NOT a modified manifold. Oh - BTW - we will be in K-ville area...Saturday for the cruise-nite in S-ville! |

Great place for ThermoQuad answers
I cannot guarantee all the data to be real acurate but I found a
web page that has a lot of information on Carter TQ's. The address is www.kenalbin.com/tech/vaanth_tq.txt According to his page your TQ 6139 is from a 1972 340 with an automatic. hope this helps. |
