Clutch-to-Flywheel Question
Acquired a 4 sp trans along with a barely used clutch, p/p and t/o bearing out of a 71 340 RR. Clutch is a 10 1/2", one currently in 70 383 RR is an 11". Can the flywheel (143-tooth) be drilled to accept the 10 1/2", or is this not advisable due to integrity issues? Bellhousing is a 626 (69 and earlier).
Dumb question then becomes: If it can be done, will I then be able to use the clutch, p/p and t/o bearing that came from the small-block? Can this small block clutch setup also be used behind a 71 Challenger 440+6? Thanks in advance for any responses! Regards, |

i don't know for sure, but I deffinatly wouldn't advise it,you could trhow the flywheel out of balance...i would go back and get the right flywheel...

As long as it's done with precision, there's no reason not to redrill the flywheel.
6 equally spaced bolts won't affect the balance. |
