Mopar Muscle Magazine proclaimed a 66 Cuda from the Pa. area to be the fastest 318 in the nation at 12.46.

Last month we ran a 12.33/107.8, and consistantly dial 12.40 - 12.42

Get out the wrenches and get after it.

300 HP on pump gas huh?

HUmmmm.....you got your work cut out for you.

You'll need some good heads to start with, have them re-guided to accept the smaller 11/32 stem valves. Get them bull hogged, do a mild port job, gasket match and polish out the combustion chambers.

Call Racer Brown to get the right cam, use a good set of forged light wieght pistons like Arias and set the compression ratio at 9.5:1.

You might want to consider the 360 stroke 318 crank, your buying new pistons anyhow you might as well get as many inches as possible out of it, at .030 over this will give you about 349 inches.

If your not going to twist it over about 6500 then a hydralic grind Racer Brown cam will work fine and is easier to maintain on a steet driver.

Hang a set of Super Comp headers through the fender wells and figure out some way to plug the exhaust through a pair of good performance mufflers.

Top it off with a good RPM manifold and a Street Demon VS 750 and you'll make around 350-375 HP and you'll be running in the low 13's at over 100 MPH.

You'll need to get rid of the 7.25 rear end and move to at least a 8.25 with a posi and 3.91 gears would be nice.

Don't forget the Frank Lupo Dynamic convertor, narrow the rear spring perches, throw a set of SS springs 002/003 at it and you'll need some decent tires to glue it to the track.

See it's easy...just takes a big checkbook and or a roomy VISA card.
