Default Carburator disassembly

I have both my carbs lying in pieces right now on my workshop table and I'm looking at lower portion of it. Those two shafts that have the valves, the linkages and torsion springs: Can they be removed? One end of the shafts looks like a flat head screw, but the other side looks like a rivet.....

Anyone manage to take these off before?

It can be done, but I don't recommend it. The butterfly valves screws are staked in place so they do not vibrate out. They can be removed, but sometimes they break! When you put them back in you will need to re-stake them, but first you have to carefully adjust each valve so they close completly to the throttle bore and do not bind.
