Question Edelbrock Performer package

Is any running the complete Edelbrock Performer package on a 440? I am considering one for my '66 Sport Fury Street car, and wanted to find out if any one had one, liked/hated theirs, etc.

Thanks, Pete

I know someone running the rpm package on a 383 and he loves the upper rpm pull the motor has. Says it lost some low end, but with a higher stall, he feels it will get of the line even better. You woudl lose some streetability doing that, but with the performer package, i dont think low end torque will be a big a concern. This is assuming the same exhaust is in place. If you go bigger, that mayl also degrade some of the low end.

Thanks, I am currently running the stock manifolds. I will be switching to the Shumaker Tri-Y headers (1 5/8" primary - 2" secondary - 2 1/2" collector) which should help low-end (shouldn't it?)

The headers will help the entire power band. The tri-y's do a better job at this than the traditnal headers. However they give up hi end HP to the regular headers.
The Performer package is a good upgrade over stock. The cam offered by Edel. (If used) could use a little more converter than stock for best results.
Low end torque should not be an issue.

Thanks Rumblefish360. I will definitely give a little more converter if the 5speed plan doesn't work out.

Ohhhhh! Manual huh?!?! Good. Then skip the converter...
Tremac conversion? That lower 1st gear is great. Nice and low.
