Biggrin convert!

If there is no vac advance, then it probably had the leanburn sys on it.
I think you can get a vac advance coversion kit from MPP.
My 318 had the leanburn dist with two picup coils and no vac adv. so I got the electronic ignition conversion kit from manciniracing.com . It comes with an all new distributor w/ vac adv, orange box, ballast resistor, wiring harness, and insrurctions/diagrams. Its a good kit. Many members here have installed them.

I got my kit from Koller Dodge www.kollerdodge.com as they wwere cheaper than anyone else. I haven't had a problem with it and it puts the old single point to shame.

Some leanburn cars had single pickup, some dual, but I am almost positive that leanburn didn't exist in 76, I believe 78 would have been the earliest year and even then not in trucks until much later. My 85 Ramcharger had dual pickups, (no lean burn) one pickup for start and the other for run. Allows starting at a preferred timing for starting, and run mode was allowed more timing thanks to the different location of the other pickup. Are you sure this motor is a 76?

The SparkControl/LeanBurn started around 76/77 on some models at least.

I know that the 440 is out of a 1976 some thing (I pulled 2 440's that day one out of a car the other out of a van) they both look the same so I don't know witch is witch. Thanks for the help I ordered a new distributor from mopar performance today. I'm not even going to mess with that other one just toss it in the garbage unless sombody wants it then it's all theirs.
