I was wondering if it is possible to run 2 alternators with 2 batteries or should i just get a battery switch and hook up 2 batteries? Right now ive got a Rockwood (i know its junk) 600X4 brigded to 2 with 2 rockford fosgate 15" Punch XLCs. all this is making my headlights flash making people think im flashing my lights at them (im having fun with this right now HAHAHAHA). im looking into getting a capacitor but i dont know if its going to do any good when i get another amp for the MAIN speakers. any ideas will be appreciated.
P.S. i have NO power accessories.no options Daytona. With neon under the car and fog lights. ive got allot of drain! |

First I would check your power and ground connections they need to be good and tight. The ground should be to a good clean (no paint)spot screwed or bolted down. Then if you still have a problem get a cap.If you still have problems I would goto a shop that rebuilds alternators and either buy one they have or have them build yours to 105-125 amp rating.
P.S. Check the battery you have now,it could be shot as well as your alt. |

first of all, what size power/ground wire do you have? if it ain't 4 or larger you're wrong. a capacitor will also help. get at least a 1 farad cap, brand name does help in this catagory. if the lights still dim, your alternator is being overpowered. a optima yellow top will also help but it is not the cure.
i'm running 1 soundstream 1000 and 1 300 off the yellow top. i have a 1.5 phoenix gold cap and all 1/0 gauge wire. 130 watt kc's, 55 watt hella's, 100/85 headlamps, 4 blacklights, neon tubes and some other low wattage acc. no dimming of anything is present. good luck |
