318 Roller cam/lifters?
Hi,
I'm building a 1988 318 with Roller cam and roller lifters for my 66 Cuda. Can you use used roller lifters with a new roller cam? also, is Hughes a good cam company? Thanks bbeep71 |

Yes, no need to replace the liffters. Hughes is a better place to get cams due to there profiles. There cams are ground by Engle.
But they don't have rollers for the non magnum engines. They'll fit in allraight. The snout on the Magnum cams is shorter than the non magnum cam. There are ways around this problem. Use stock Magnum timing chain and gears. Then you'll need an electric feul pump. |

Thanks rumblefish360, I wasn't sure about the lifters. I talked with a Guy from Hughes, they have an extention that goes on their Magnum cams to work with a Pre-Magnum with roller lifters and mechanical fuel pump. They suggested their HER0814AL for my application. 9.0:1 CR and Auto.
