fuel pump mounting
I am building a 65 Belvedere Sedan for the street. The car has the rear springs moved in. I have a fuel cell mounted in the trunk. The cell has a 2 in. pickup. I have been thinking of cutting a hole in the trunk so that the cell pickup is below the trunk floor. If I don't cut a hole I will have to mount the cell 2 in up in the trunk. I was wanting some ideas as where and how I should mount the cell and pump. I also have a Fram filter unit to mount. Should I keep everything in the trunk or under the trunk. Since the springs are moved in I think rear frame rail might not be a good idea. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks Ron

I don't think the spring relocation is going to be that big of a deal. I would still go against the frame rail, but I might fab a bracket that holds it steady about 1/2" away from it for just a little more clearance. That filter and pump can go on the same bracket. Take a look at Dilley's 340 on msn.communities websites. There should be link on either the Top 100 Mopar sites or on my website in my sig. His is full back halfed and still has his pump back there. Good Luck!
