Default Thermoquad parts sources?

Does anybody know of any good sources for Thermoquad tuning parts? I know that they aren't still being sold new, but are there any storehouses or used parts places to get jets and metering rods?

I once called the carbshop and they gave me prices that were out of sight.
AS IN CRAZY!!!!! It worked out to be more expensive than gold. No BS.
you may wanna try shooting an e-mail to Dave @;

Default Thermoquads

Tuning parts such as the old strip kits are getting hard to find, but I have found a few floating around ,mostly from talking to older parts counter guys,or the odd swap meet.

Default WANT ONE!

I'm running a Edelbrock #1406 on my 360 in my Ramcharger now but I never saw anything that gave a good mileage and had better low, midrange, and top end power than a Thermoquad!
I really, really, really wish they would start producing these excellent carbs again!!!!

Does any offer a service of rebuilding the base plates?

I believe the Carb Shop offers that service as well as new main bodies, but I'm sure it would be expensive.

Mister Fiberglass, I've heard of the strip kit but don't know what all comes with one? I'd probably be interested in one if it has the right stuff. I'm looking for a wide selection of jets + rods plus anything else to help tune the carb for racing applications. Also might be interested in the air valve tool, I've heard it makes life a lot easier.

Tb - you can reuse your screws and restake them IF you are careful. A good machine shop(does NOT have to be automotive inclined) can put bushing in those plates.......HOW bad is the slop?

goose - about the ONLY thing that you need for a REAL hi horsepower application is those large needle and seats. The jets and rods you can USE from the standard application........how much richer do you want to make it? You can just drill the secondary jets.

That AV tool DOES help a bunch (as others can attest to) and is a MUCH better design tham the previous pieces. Interested?

How big can the secondary jets be drilled? I'm planning on trying this carb under boost, the way the secondaries work seems to me to be perfect for a forced induction setup. I'm going to have the secondaries come open near max boost, and jet them to give the engine correct a/f at max boost; they'll have to be fairly big jets I'm thinking. Since the primaries are going to be used for running at low or no boost maybe I don't need to buy a jet/rod set... The tool sounds good, how much/how to pay etc.

Default Mr Fiberglass

The slop is probably 1/32 to 1/16". Very bad, the worst Ive seen in a long time. I'll try again to get the screws loose but the first time I tried, I couldn't get them. Someone must sell these screws, after all, the big shops rebuild them.

g - me thinks the largest you can go would be about .150. I would think that if this is going to be under boost that you will have to TIGHTEN that AV up. contact me at niteowl440@hotmail.com for that tool.............23$ gets it delivered and insured to your door.

T - how about just lock-titeing a standard screw in ? Being honest - I have never changed one - never had to! a 1/16 IS pretty bad.
