Default What is the best way to install an auxillary fuel tank

Want to put a second fuel tank on a 96 and a 02 dodge diesel. Any ideas on how to plumb one in, and what kind of switchover valves to use. Thanks

Transfer Flow makes a complete kit to install a second 35gallon tank where the spare tire sits.

for 12 hun I will try and make one myself !!! I will be putting a 50 gallon one(THICK poly fresh water tank) on the inside of that XtremeKingKab to be plumbed into the main tank.

Does anyone know of a good fairly high volumn low pressure pump to be used in this combo?

My buddy had a 60 gallon made for where the tire is. I don't know how much it was, but it wasn't that much. His truck has a Cat motor in it, an Allison 6 speed, a Dana 70 rear, airbrakes, airbags, custom four link rear end with crossbar, etc etc. He needed a 60 gal tank so when he hauls his backhoe on the fifth wheel he doesn't have to stop too often. His truck empty weighs 8,000 lbs !!

I, too, had looked at getting a replacement tank for my RAM. I was looking into replacing the 36 gallon OE tank with a 50 gallon Transfer Flow. My truck is just a personal use truck, and even if I worked it, I could not see $700 for an additional 16 gallons of fuel. Just my $.02 worth.........
